I’m sure you’ve heard of green tea and why it’s so important and beneficial to our health. But what exactly makes it so healthy? Keep reading to find out.

wHy green tea?
- May prevent cancer
Green tea is known to prevent cancer. It is because of its ingredients called polyphenols ( antioxidants ). Antioxidants are substances that prevent or slow damage to cells caused by free radicals ( these are molecules which are produced as a reaction to environmental pressure ). - Reduces bad and stinky breath
This “magical” tea can reduce bad and stinky breath because it contains catechins. Those are substances that inhibit and kill certain types of bacteria which can be found in our mouth! - Reduces plaque and cavity
The bacteria that are found in our mouth cause plaque and cavity. And again, thanks to the catechins in green tea, it reduces these processes and makes our smiles stay beautiful and healthy! - Improves brain function and focus
Green tea is known to improve brain function and focus. It contains 30-50mg caffeine which equals half a cup of coffee, so you are focused without the tachycardia caused by coffee! 😀

- Relaxes you ( by relaxing your brain )
The tea contains a substance called L-theanine which relaxes your brain but without the sedation that other medication can cause. - Lowers blood pressure
The tea is known to lower high blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels. This way the blood can flow more freely. Also, its antioxidants have been linked to better cardiovascular health. - May help you burn fat
Green tea increases metabolism and oxidizes fat which means that it burns fat! But, of course, don’t forget to keep eating healthy and making exercises. The tea ain’t a magic drink. 😀 - Protects your brain
The tea protects your brain, again because of the catechins. They decrease the risk of developing dementia ( Alzheimer and Parkinson’s disease ).

To conclude, green tea is so beneficial for your health – it works from inside out – from keeping your heart and brain healthy to keeping you look skinny and fit! Now go make some afternoon tea and let it do wonders to your mind and body!
